SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The OCCAC has announced this week’s basketball players of the week selections.
Isaiah Trice (6-2/FR – Wayne HS, Huber Heights, OH) picks up his first career conference accolade, joining teammatesQuantes Jackson and LiDonta Hicks-Gentry as Tartan Pride representatives this season. He dropped in 25.0 points per game and narrowly missed out on averaging a double-double with 9.5 rebounds/game. Trice opened the week by stuffing the stat sheet with 28 points (tying his career high), 12 rebounds, eight assists and three steals as Sinclair topped Thomas More College (JV) by 19 points. He then came back to produce 22 points and seven rebounds vs. Lakeland later in the week.
The game against Thomas More tied a Sinclair record with 17 made 3’s in a game for the team. By knocking down eight 3’s,Trice fell just two made 3’s short of the record for made 3’s in a single game by an individual.
Sinclair travels to Hocking College Wednesday to take on the Hawks in an OCCAC match.
Saturday Sinclair will host the #1 team in the nation Cuyahoga in a critical OCCAC game as the regular enters the home stretch.
All home games are played on the downtown Dayton campus in the only arena in the nation named Building 8. The game will be streamed live on Facebook with additional coverage from the Gem City Sports Network.
Sinclaie Women Jump to #11 In The Country
Dayton, Ohio – The Sinclair (20-2/7-0) Women’s Basketball team jumps to number 11 in this week’s NJCAA Division Women’s Basketball Poll.
Sinclair is currently on the second longest winning streak in school history at 19 games and has blasted through the first half of the conference undefeated, including a 67-59 home win over #6 Owens.
After 22 games, Sinclair has already scored over 100 seven times breaking shattering the old record for a single season. If the Pride continues to score at the current pace of 87.3 points per game, they would break the old record from the 1985-86 season of 84.0 points per game.
The 130 points scored against Hocking set a new team record for most points scored in a single game and the 118-17 win at Clark State also set a new record for largest scoring margin – 101 points.
