Dayton, Ohio – Sinclair (2-0/0-0) opened up at home for the 2018-2019 season against Miami University – Middletown (2-1/0-0) at home with a 75-59 victory in building 8 arena.
This was Sinclair’s first time beating the Thunderhawks in the last two seasons. The Tartan pride started the game shaky but found their rhythm and went into the half with a 36-30 lead.
Amanda Schroeder (6-00/SO – Carroll HS) lead all scorers 29 points and also snagged 11 rebs. Kierre James (5-03 – Lima HS) added 22 points and 5 assists.
Sinclair came out of the locker room in the second half on a mission. The Tartan pride locked in defensively in the third quarter holding Miami-Middletown to six points. Meanwhile the Tartan pride scored 28 points and blew the game open going into the fourth quarter with a 64-36 lead. Sloppy play in the fourth quarter coupled with the Thunderhawks never quit attitude Sinclair held off a 12-1 run by Miami-Middletown and won 75-59.
Sinclair will travel to Detroit on Saturday to take on Henry Ford @ 1pm in a Region XII game.
