This is Doug Brown one of the owners of the Gem City Sports Network. And when we reach an anniversary or a milestone, I like to share it with our listeners.
It’s kind of hard to believe that today The Gem City Sports Network begins OUR 7th year of broadcasting LOCAL sports.
In the 6 previous years, we have done 1,501 broadcasts and have had over 104,000 views to our website.
Tonight, in celebration of our 6th anniversary, we will be broadcasting the first ever game thatĀ we did. A girls high school basketball game featuring the Stebbins Indians and the Belmont Bison from Belmont High School. The broadcast will begin at 7:00 pm onĀ radio1.gemcitysports.com.
This was the brainchild of Brian Reiss and has grown into one of the better known internet stations in the area.
It was our vision, Brian’s and mine, to broadcast LOCAL sports and to showcase some of the schools and organizations that don’t get a lot of media coverage. In which I think we have done.
So I personally would like to thank all the Athletic Directors, coaches, players and fans for making this internet station one of the best.
I would like to thank the following people who have come on board to help us out. Lee W. Mowen, Thomas Pasch, Rick and Mary Smith and Stan Long.
Thank you so much for listening and we hope to, again, bring you the best coverage in 2019.
