This Friday on GCSN Radio 3, the Chaminade-Julienne Eagles (2-1, 0-0 GCL) will host the Carroll Patriots (2-1, 0-0 GCL) at Heidkamp Stadium on the campus of Wayne High School. Kickoff for this contest is set for 7:00 PM.
The Carroll Patriots are looking to come back after a crushing 34-9 defeat from the Springfield-Shawnee Braves last week. In that contest, the Patriots only gained 124 total yards, with 103 of them on the ground. Leading the rushing attack was Joel Telaha, with 8 runs for 32 total yards. The only touchdown the Patriots scored was from a 43 yard run by Noah Hoagland. Carroll’s defense will look to rebound, allowing 428 yards last week for 16 first downs, after only allowing 9 in both of their two previous games.
Meanwhile, the Chaminade-Julienne Eagles are coming into their homecoming game having beaten the Meadowdale Lions, a previous Carroll opponent, by a score of 49-6. In that thrashing, the Eagles gained 354 total yards, passing for 227 of them. Quarterback Jacob Harrison threw 12 for 21 with 2 touchdowns on that evening, with Zach Burneka his favorite target, catching 5 passes for 147 yards and both touchdowns. On the rushing front, Antwand Wilson led all players with 16 rushes for 99 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jacob Harrison was right behind him with 5 runs for 21 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Eagles’ defense was also active last week, sacking the Meadowdale quarterback 6 times, with Marvin Radford and Trey Harper each accounting for 2 of them.
