The Carroll Patriots have the toughest battle of their season-to-date on their hands as they host the McNicholas Rockets from Patriot Stadium in Riverside. Kickoff is scheduled for tonight at 7:00 PM, and can be heard live on GCSN Radio 3.
Carroll comes into this game with a record of 2-2, 0-1 in the GCL. The Patriots are currently riding a two-game losing streak, with losses to both Springfield-Shawnee (9-34), and Chaminade-Julienne (29-54). Last week in Carroll’s loss to CJ, the Patriots rushed for 259 yards, averaging 5.1 yards per carry. Patrick Shiner led the Carroll rushing attack with 18 carries for 97 yards and 2 touchdowns, followed by Christain Willis, with 15 carries for 39 yards. Marcus LaJeunesse had 3 carries for 76 yards and one touchdown, including one 68 yard run. Carroll also threw for more yards against the Eagles than in any previous game, throwing for 127 yards overall. Jacob Severt had 4 completions out of 10 attempts for 103 of those yards, including one touchdown. The top receiver for Carroll was Christain Willis, with 3 receptions for 69 yards. Defensively, the Patriots were led by Patrick Hemmert, who accounted for 12 tackles, including 9 solo tackles.

On the day, McNicholas gained 373 yards overall, with 216 coming on the ground. Luke Sulken led the rushing attack for McNicholas with 141 yards on 26 carries with 2 touchdowns. Sulken also accounted for all 157 of McNicholas’ passing yards, throwing a laser-accurate 20 for 24 with one touchdown. Luke threw to 10 different receivers that day. Elliot Higgins and Charlie Lind led on defense for McNicholas, accounting for 7 and 6 tackles respectively.
