High School Football kicks off this week and Gem City Sports Network has your hook up! This Friday, we travel to Riverside, where the Carroll Patriots host the Meadowdale Lions in a GCL/City League showdown.
The Lions, led by coach John Wortham, are looking to improve on their 6-4 record from last season, as well as avenge their 33-18 loss to the Patriots at Welcome Stadium on last season’s opening week. The Lions were 2-2 in the City League last season, with a 3-1 record on the road.
Carroll, led by new head coach Ben Rulli, is looking to rebound from its 3-7 record last season. The Patriots were 1-6 in the GCL last season, and were 1-3 within the confines of Patriot Stadium. Key returners for the Patriots include Senior Quarterback Patirck Shiner (6’1″, 175lbs) and Senior Running and Defensive Back Marcus LaJeunesse (5’7″, 165 lbs.)
