Dayton Ohio
The Sinclair athletic department took time away from all the activities associated with the first day of classes to fulfill a civic responsibility, registering to vote. Monday was the first day of class for all 5 athletic teams met with Beverly King Supervisor of Registration for the Montgomery County Board of Elections.
Mrs. King spoke about the importance of the Presidential cycle, but she also emphasized how critical it is for citizens to vote in all elections not just the big ones. Pointing out that every vote is needed during the local elections as those are sometimes the issues that have greater impact on our community, such as County Commissioners, Mayoral and even school bond issues.
At the end of the meeting 53 Sinclair student-athletes had filled out voter registration forms for all Ohio counties including several players submitting forms for Indiana, Michigan and Kentucky.
