URBANA, Ohio — Urbana Athletics announced the first night football game ever at Urbana University Stadium will take place on Thursday, Sept. 28against the University of Charleston (WV). Kickoff for the historic event between the two Mountain East Conference schools is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
“We are very pleased and excited to announce we will be hosting our first ever night football game at Urbana University,” said Executive Director of Athletics Larry Cox.
“I would like to thank MEC commissioner Reid Amos, Charleston AD Bren Stevens, and Charleston Coach Pat Kirkland for their willingness to accommodate the change to allow for this historic event. It promises to be a very exciting night for not only our team, but our student-body, as well as the entire college and local community.”
Built in 2006, UU Stadium received major renovations over the summer as a part of numerous upgrades delivered across the entire UU campus. The stadium project included the installation of four modern LED lighting units and new turf on the playing surface featuring updated branding colors and logo.
