Bruce Yari belted a solo home run in the fourth inning to give the Dayton Dragons a 4-2 win over the West Michigan Whitecaps. The win moves the Dragons within one game of the first place Whitecaps
The Dragon scored a couple of runs in the 3rd inning on a single by T.J. Friedl, a walk to Jose Siri and a single to Taylor Trammell. On the play, the right fielder Danny Woodrow tried to get Siri out at third but couldn’t and the third baseman Josh Lester threw to second to try and get Trammell who was going to second base. Instead Lester’s throw ended up in right field allowing Siri to score and Trammell to advance to third.
Brantley Bell then singled in Taylor Trammell in the eighth with an insurance run
Cincinnati Reds pitcher Tony Cingrani pitched for the Dragons on a rehab assignment today. He threw one inning, twenty-four pitches one walk one wild pitch and three ground ball outs.
The Dragons improve to 33-17 and will host the South Bend Cubs tomorrow night at 7:00 pm
