Fairborn Ohio – The Wright State women’s soccer team tallied a goal in each half in posting a 2-0 decision over Belmont in it’s home opener Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field.
Senior MacKenzie Hamilton opened the scoring for the Raiders at the 8:43 mark of the first half with her first goal of the season. After a shot by sophomore Bryce Hueber knocked away by the Belmont goalkeeper, Hamilton connected on the rebound . It was Hueber’ second assist.
Wright State added an insurance goal at the 58:35 mark in the second half as sophomore Madison McKinney scored off a corner kick from Sarah Colvin. It was McKinney’s first goal of the season.
The Raiders will be staying close to home next weekend as the host the Miami Redhawks on Friday at 7:00 pm and then a trip to Baujan Field for a date with the University of Dayton Flyers also at 7:00 pm.
